Since it was founded in 1190, the Teutonic Order has followed a clear mission - to "Help and Heal", to be there for others, prioritise their needs and care for them. The Teutonic Sisters of Lana have put this guiding principle of helping and healing into practice in a range of institutions, including hospitals and hospices, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, a sewing school, and, in recent decades, primarily in nursing homes and homes for the elderly. It is now also doing so in the form of its ST. JOSEF Health Centres, with two locations in Merano and Bolzano. In addition to treating diseases, the primary focus here is on reducing them – through prevention and health care in all their forms and manifestations.

Prevention Consultation with
Prof. Dr. med. univ. Alfred Königsrainer
„Throughout my career as a surgeon, I have been able to help many people in lasting ways. But I often asked myself: What if these patients had been diagnosed earlier, or not become ill at all? At ST. JOSEF Health Centre Merano – Bolzano, we place special emphasis on prevention and early detection. Our goal is to motivate people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and provide them with the best possible support if they are diagnosed with an illness."
Prof. Dr. med. univ. Alfred Königsrainer shares his extensive experience in a free prevention consultation, which includes the following services:
- Detailed medical history and risk assessment
- Collaborative development of a personalised prevention plan
Please note that this is a limited initiative, so we recommend early registration.
